If there is a shortage of ambulances to carry the dead bodies to the hospital, the bodies are being taken to the crematorium to be kept in trucks for the last rites. 7 to 8 dead bodies are being transported in a truck.
Dead bodies have been written on trucks by the administration. Hospital personnel said that due to lack of ambulances, the bodies are being transported in trucks. In a video of Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, that part is seen where the bodies of the infected dead of Kovid-19 are being kept. According to the video, there is no place in the freezer to keep the dead body, in such a situation, if some are seen on a stretcher in the sun under the sky, many bodies are seen lying on the ground.

It was told that the process of handing over the dead bodies to relatives or sending them for cremation is being delayed, due to which the crematorium was filled. Hospital officials expressed helplessness over deaths from Kovid. The situation in the hospital is that beds equipped with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and oxygen have been filled since last week and no beds are vacant here.
Meera Baghel, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Raipur, says, “No one could have imagined that there would be such a number of deaths simultaneously.” We have a sufficient number of freezers for normalcy, but if we are preparing for 10 to 20, then 50 to 60 people are dying. ‘

He further said, “In the event of the death of so many people at once, how can we arrange such a freezer.” According to official sources, an average of 55 dead bodies are being cremated daily in Raipur and most of the dead were infected with corona.
The Union Health Ministry has informed that 68.16 percent of the total number of active corona patients in the country are from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Kerala.
