A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding the posting of posters outside the Corona-infected house. The court said that once posters are placed on the homes of Corona patients, they are treated like untouchables.

Government’s answer – not this rule, but the system of protection of others
The central government said in the court that this is not a necessary rule, the purpose of this practice is not to taint the corona patients, but this system is for the safety of others. On behalf of the government, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that some states are adopting this method in their efforts to prevent corona infection.

The court said – reality is different
On the government’s reply, a bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah said that the ground reality is different. The next hearing in this case will be held on Thursday.

The Supreme Court had on November 5 asked the central government to consider issuing guidelines to prevent the posting of posters outside the homes of Corona patients. Petitioner Kush Kalra made this appeal in this case. On this, the court directed the government without issuing notice.

Court asked the Center – why not make guidelines for the whole country?
The Supreme Court had said that when the Delhi government agreed in the High Court that posters would not be placed outside the homes of Corona patients, why could the Center not issue such guidelines for the entire country?

In the Delhi High Court too, Kush Kalra had put the petition. They objected that their problems were increasing due to the names of Corona patients being circulated through Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and WhatsApp groups. Corona patients should get privacy so that they can face the disease without becoming a spectacle.
