Coronavirus India Update: Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said today that the situation of Covid in the world is worrisome. Cases are increasing in the United States, Britain, Brazil, Russia, and South Africa. In India, 12,584 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. Our cases are decreasing here but caution is needed. He said that there are 2,16,558 active cases in India. These are the least active cases after 30 June. 54% of the total active cases are in two states. There are 63,547 active cases of corona in Kerala and 53,463 in Maharashtra.

In the press conference of the Ministry of Health, Rajesh Bhushan said that 43.96% of the patients in the country are in hospital while 56.04% of the patients are in home isolation.

Regarding vaccination, he said that Phase 2 trial of Zydus Cadila has been completed. Phase 3 trial will take place from this month. Phase 2/3 trials of Sputnik V are underway.


He said that 38.5 lakh doses were taken from Bharat Biotech at the rate of Rs 295 per dose. India Biotech will give 16.5 lakh dose free. There will be a total of 55 lakh doses. Accordingly, the Government of India Biotech Vaccine will get Rs 206 per dose. 1.1 crore doses have been taken from the Serum Institute at a rate of Rs 200.

He said that 54.72 lakh vaccine doses have been supplied. By 14 January, 1.1 million serum and 55 lakhs will reach the India Biotech vaccine. There will be a difference of 28 days between the two doses of the vaccine. The effect of the vaccine will start 14 days after the second dose.
