The new strain of corona in India may be more contagious. AIIMS chief Dr. Randeep Guleria has expressed this apprehension. Dr. Guleria said that herd immunity against the corona virus in India is a myth, because 80 percent of the population should have antibodies to the corona virus, which is necessary for the protection of the entire population under the herd immunity.
Dr. Guleria said that if we talk about new strains of Corona in Maharashtra, which can prove to be more contagious and dangerous. The new strain can also relieve a person recovering from infection, even if antibodies have been produced earlier. In Maharashtra, Kovid Taskforce member Dr. Shashank Joshi has said that 240 new corona strains have been seen in the state. Since last week, this is believed to be an important reason for increasing cases in Maharashtra. In the first phase of vaccination, the government has planned to give vaccination to about 3 crore health workers.
