new Delhi. Scientists from around the world are making efforts to prevent the coronavirus epidemic. According to researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, medical plants can help to a great extent in avoiding this infection. According to the study, black and green tea and green tea have the ability to fight infection. Studies were done on medical plants.
Anti-viral activity is found
Experimental findings have shown that tea (black and green tea, scientific name- Camellia sinensis) as well as anti-viral activity are found in Haritaki (Terminalia chebula). The study reported that this one-of-a-kind extract of this virus acts as a potential anti-viral through in-vitro inhibition of proteolytic activity of 3CL. There is a potential treatment for SARS-COVID-2 infection which should be further validated with the in-vivo model.
These include bioactive components
Indian herbal plants include bioactive components. It can be used to prevent many diseases. This study is published in the journal Phytotherapy Research. The test has been performed at about 51 medical plants on 3CLPro protease. The study says that this protein is effective in preventing virus infection.
