Coal Price Hike: Pramod Agarwal, chairman of public sector company Coal India Limited (CIL), said on Monday that the price of coal can be increased soon. At present, talks are going on with the stakeholders regarding this. At the Coal Markets Conference organized by mjunction, Pramod Agarwal said, “If the price is not increased, many problems will arise. Talks are going on with the stakeholders in this regard and this step will be taken soon.
Regarding the production target of one billion tonnes, he said that it will be achieved by 2025-26. However, achieving the target will depend on the need of the country and the growth of the private sector. He told that the company wants to increase underground coal production from the current 25-30 million tonnes to 100 million tonnes by 2030.
