Chhattisgarh Coronavirus: Troubled by sub standard PPE kits and mask, doctors start strike


Resident doctors of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur have started a strike.


Resident Doctors of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital, the largest hospital in the state in Raipur, Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur, have started the strike. They have launched a strike to protest the supply of substandard PPE kits and masks, due to which fifty percent of the doctors on duty have been infected with the Coronavirus.

Doctors allege that they have been demanding quality PPE kits, N-95 masks and gloves for COVID-19 duty for a long time but the administration has not taken cognizance of this. Resident doctors have stopped OPD duty leaving the duties of Kovid and emergency services with immediate effect.

If the demands are not met, the doctors’ association will stop the emergency services from 15 April and will also leave the cavid duty from 8 am on 18 April.
