A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice GS Kulkarni of the Bombay High Court had sought a response from the Centre.
The Central Government has told the Bombay High Court that door-to-door vaccination of people cannot be done. Because the current national guidelines (guidelines) do not allow this. Some state governments and urban bodies have carried out door-to-door vaccination for special category citizens, ignoring the guidelines of the Centre. But running such a campaign is not possible under the national policy.
Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh said this in the court. A bench of High Court Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice GS Kulkarni had summoned the Centre’s reply. The court wanted to know that the BMC had sought permission for door-to-door vaccination for the elderly and the differently-abled. What was the decision on that? ASG Singh was answering this.
Singh said- ‘The central government can only give advice to the states. Therefore, the Center did not ask the states like Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, which are doing door-to-door vaccination, to withdraw the campaign. However, the Center has been revamping its policy from time to time. It is possible, sometime in the future, to allow door-to-door vaccination campaign. But it is not possible now.
