The CBI will interrogate former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh and suspended police officer Sachin Vaze in connection with the preliminary inquiry into the alleged corruption case of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Officials said that on the orders of the Bombay High Court, the investigating agency initiated a preliminary inquiry into the allegations of bribery against Deshmukh. He told that a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials has gone to Mumbai for investigation in the case.
Waje was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on March 25 in connection with the recovery of explosive material from an SUV near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and later in the death of the vehicle owner Mansukh Hiren.

Officials said that the central agency has obtained the necessary permission to interrogate Waje and the team will also contact Singh to find out in detail the allegations against Deshmukh.

At the same time, Vaje spread sensation by making new allegations against Anil Deshmukh and Shiv Sena Minister Anil Parab. Waje claimed on Wednesday that Deshmukh had demanded Rs 2 crore from him to continue his services in the Mumbai Police. Waje also alleged that Minister of State Parab had asked him to collect money from some contractors in Mumbai. Parab rejected Waje’s claim.
