On January 13, a case has been registered against a Congress councilor and youth activists for unlawful assembly and other crimes for demonstrating outside the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters in Nagpur. In Hedgewar, outside the Smriti Bhavan campus, Congress workers demonstrated against the three agricultural laws of the Center. Police said a case was filed against Councilor Bunty Shelkar and 19 members of the Youth Congress under sections 149 (unlawful assembly) and 188 (violation of public servant’s order) of the Indian Penal Code.

An official said that the protesters had not taken permission from the police for the demonstration and also violated the rules regarding gathering at one place in the wake of the Kovid-19 epidemic. According to the police, no one has been arrested.
