You must have heard about scrap policy many times. It must also be known that in this policy old cars will be scrapped. That is, your old car will be made junk. Now Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also started the first unit of recycling old vehicles in Noida. This scrap center has been built by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. 44 crore has been invested in this center spread over 10,993 square meters.
Not many people know about how car scraping works. That is, you have to scrap your car too, then what to do? This is what we are going to tell you in this news. Think of it step-by-step…
In this policy, a rule has been made to scrap 10 year old diesel car and 15 year old petrol car. However, now the fitness test of the cars will be done. To insure the car, now its fitness test certificate will be necessary. For this reason, all the cars will be subjected to fitness tests every year. If your car fails this fitness test, it will be sent for scrap.
The government has named the vehicle scrap policy as the Voluntary Vehicle Modernization Program (VVMP). If a person’s vehicle fails the fitness test, then he has to deposit his vehicle in 60-70 registered scrap facilities across the country. Scraping centers are being opened in all major and metro cities. If this center is not available in your city, then you will have to take a car to the nearest city centre.
Carry all the documents related to your car like registration certificate (RC), driving license, insurance, fitness certificate, an identity card. Make photocopies of all these as well. You will have to show all these documents at the scraping center. After the basic formalities, the scrapping work of the car will start. All the parts of your vehicle will be disassembled in front of you.
The essential components/parts of the car will be disassembled. They can be reused. Especially steel is the biggest raw material. Battery, metal, oil, coolant will be destroyed according to global environment standard, so that they can not be reused. No parts of the car will be given to you. When the car is scrapped, take back all your original documents. Also take the engine number, chassis number plate.
Any scrapping center at which your car gets scraped, then a scrapping document is given from there. This is called certificate of deposit. The certificate contains the details of the date on which your vehicle (model and registration number) has been scrapped. Auto companies will give a discount of up to 5% of the ex-showroom price while buying a new vehicle on this certificate. Apart from this, there will be no registration fee for the new vehicle.
After scrapping the car, a destruction certificate is also issued to the customer. This certificate has to be submitted by going to the Regional Transport Office. After which your car is taken out of the list of vehicles running on the road, so that no one can misuse your vehicle number in future.
