Indian captain Rohit Sharma is hoping that Jasprit Bumrah can make a comeback in the last two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia. Bumrah is not in the team for the first two Tests, but, recently Bumrah has resumed practice. He is bowling in the nets of the National Cricket Academy. His return is being expected.

Rohit Sharma said after winning the ODI series against New Zealand on Tuesday, ‘We are not sure about Bumrah at this point of time. I am expecting that he will play the last two Tests. At this time the team management does not want to take any kind of risk because even after this we have to play many big matches and tournaments. At present we are in touch with the National Cricket Academy. The medical team will give Bumrah full time to recover.
Named in squad against Sri Lanka but did not play
Jasprit Bumrah was about to make a comeback in the three ODI series against Sri Lanka this month. His name was also in the squad, but he could not be a part of the series. According to the BCCI statement, Bumrah needed some more time to be fully fit, so he was taken out as a precaution.
Did not even play Asia Cup and T20 World Cup
Bumrah was injured during a training session just before the South Africa series in August-September last year. Due to this injury, he had to leave the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.
Last match was played against Australia
Bumrah played the last match on 25 September 2022. He made a comeback in the home series against Australia. He did not play the first match and after that he was part of the playing-11 in the second and third matches. However, after that he was out again after getting injured.

Jasprit Bumrah’s name is not currently in the squad for the first two Test matches in the Test series against Australia.
