The domestic market opened flat on the first trading day of the week amid weak trends in Asia after strong closing in the US and European markets. BSE Sensex opened 10 points higher at 52,985.26, NSE Nifty gave a weak opening of 7 points at 15,849.30. There is selling pressure in banking and financial stocks, Nifty index of media stocks is up more than 1%.
On Friday, the markets closed strongly amid volatility. The BSE Sensex was up 138.59 points, or 0.26%, at 52,975.80. NSE Nifty closed at 15,856.05 with a gain of 32.00 or 0.20%. During trading, there was a fluctuation of 461 points in Sensex and 131 points in Nifty.
According to experts, the trading pattern is indicating buying on every sell, but buying support at higher levels is not available. In such a situation, if Nifty remains above 15,800, then it will be seen moving towards 15,962. After that the next target will be the 16,000 level. If there is a fall, Nifty will first get support at 15,750. Below this, buying can come out at 15,700.
Nifty-100 shares went 52 high
These ten stocks of Nifty 100 have gone 52 high today – Apollo Hospitals, Divi’s Lab, D Mart, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv, Godrej Consumer, Abbott India, Torrent Pharma, ICICI Bank, McDowell.
Today the quarterly financial results of big companies like Axis Bank, DLF, Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T, Tata Motors and Vedanta are going to come.
Mixed trend in Asia
There is a mixed trend in the Asian markets today. Japan’s Nikkei is up about 1.10%. China’s Shanghai Composite is down more than 2.20%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is down more than 2.5 percent. Korea’s Kospi is trading down about 0.50%. Australia’s All Ordinary has a marginal gain of around 0.05%.
Strength in America and Europe
US markets remained firm on Friday. The Dow Jones closed with a gain of 0.68%. The Nasdaq gained 1.04%. The S&P 500 gained 1.01%. European markets also closed strongly. Britain’s FTSE closed up 0.85%. France’s CAC jumped 1.35%. Germany’s DAX gained 1.0%.
FII and DII data
According to provisional data available on the NSE, on Friday, July 23, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 163.31 crore. That is, he sold shares worth so much more than the amount of shares he bought. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2187.8 crore.
