In view of the ever increasing cases of Coronavirus infection in the country’s economic capital Rajdhani Mumbai, BMC has decided to seal any housing society with more than five infected patients. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday released some new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). According to the guidelines issued by BMC, if more than 5 active cases are found in any society, then it will be treated and sealed like a micro-cantonment zone. The society will have to put a gate outside the gate and there will be a captive of visitors coming from outside. The Society will monitor all the micro-content zones. If the rules are not followed then a fine of 10 thousand will be imposed and a second time penalty of 20 thousand rupees will be imposed.

According to the guideline, the policemen will be monitored on the building which will be sealed. Milk, food, news paper will be given outside the society’s gate and it will be the responsibility of the society to take it to the right flat. The person coming from outside is not allowed to enter the secretory and the president without permission, unless there is a medical emergency. It will also be the responsibility of the cooperative society to seal the corona-infected flat. If a corona is infected and it is home quarantine, then it cannot roam in the society’s premises. If anyone breaks this rule, an FIR will be filed on it. BMC, health officers and medical people are allowed to visit such premises.

The BMC has warned of a fine on the cooperative housing society for violating its rules. The civic body said that police personnel will be deployed at the entrance of the sealed building.
