Congress welcomed SC decision on agricultural laws, but said this about the formation of committee ..
Significantly, the Supreme Court on Tuesday set up a high-level committee to consider the doubts and grievances of the farmers, along with stopping the implementation of the three controversial laws in an effort to find a solution to the situation arising out of the farmers’ movement on the borders of Delhi. The court has suggested names of Harsimrat Mann, agricultural economist Ashok Gulati, Dr. Pramod Kumar Joshi (former Director National Agricultural Research Management), Anil Dhanwat as members of the committee. However, farmer leaders have said that they do not want to take part in any action before any committee appointed by the SC.
“These government committees”, included in advocates committee of agricultural laws, we will not talk: Yogendra Yadav
Farmer leader Dr. Darshan Pal Singh said that today we had a meeting with Punjab Farmers Organizations. Tomorrow we will hold a meeting of the entire United Farmers Front. Yesterday we had told in the press note that if the Supreme Court will form a committee, then we do not approve. We feel that what the government could not do, it is doing through the Supreme Court. Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said, ‘We think it is the mischief of the government that they brought the committee through the Supreme Court. All the members of the committee have been justifying the government. These people have been justifying the laws by writing articles in the press. So what to say in front of such a committee. This movement of ours will continue. Even if the people of this committee change tomorrow, we will not go before the committee. This struggle of ours is indefinite. We will continue the movement in a peaceful manner.
