All states are taking precaution in view of bird flu. The photo is of a poultry farm in Chaibasa district of Jharkhand.
More than 800 chickens have died from bird flu in Murumba village of Parbhani district in Maharashtra. Their sample examination revealed infection. Bird flu was confirmed in Delhi on Monday. According to the Animal Husbandry Department of the Delhi Government, samples of 8 ravens and ducks were sent for examination.
The Parliamentary Committee on Agricultural Affairs has called a meeting of officials of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying today. The meeting will discuss the status of Veterinary Services and availability of animal vaccines.
Delhi: 118 birds killed
On Sunday, 91 crows and 27 ducks died in different parks of Delhi Development Authority. Areas around Sanjay Lake have been declared as alert zones.
Maharashtra: Chief Minister calls meeting
The Parbhani district administration has decided to kill 8000 birds in Murumba village. The sale and sale of chickens was also banned in the 10 km area of the village. Medical examination of the people of the village will also be done. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called a meeting today to review the bird flu.
