Bihar election: Nitish Kumar, Sushil Modi campaigned, attacked Lalu Yadav

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday, during the joint election campaign against their opponent and Lalu Prasad, the chief of the state’s main opposition party RJD, for the state of crime and development work in the state during his party’s reign. After conducting separate electoral campaigns earlier this week, Nitish and Sushil reached Buxar, Dumraon, Tarari and Jagdishpur on Sunday to campaign in favor of BJP and JDU candidates. Former state police chief and JDU leader Gupteshwar Pandey was not present at the Buxar rally but BJP candidate Parashuram Chaturvedi said that he received his support and blessings.

Chaturvedi himself worked as Assistant Under Inspector in Bihar Police in 2003 and took the field of politics by taking premature retirement. Chaturvedi told PTI-language, “Gupteshwar Pandey has not only been my senior in the police, but also an elder brother, whom I touch with respect and have always been a blessing.”

Addressing the rally, Nitish and Sushil attacked Lalu Prasad, highlighting the prevailing situation in the state during the RJD regime from 1990 to 2005 and termed it as “Jungle Raj”. At the Buxar rally, Nitish said, “What was the law and order situation at that time. People were afraid to leave the house after sunset. We abolished the ‘Jungle Raj’ and established the ‘Rule of Law’. ”

Both, while mentioning the corruption prevailing during RJD rule, alleged that Lalu himself was also involved in corruption. Nitish said, “People engaged in their service are behind bars today and soon more people will be seen following them.” Lalu is currently serving a sentence in Ranchi after being convicted in crores of fodder scam cases. Nitish named the opposition Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of being “inexperienced” and making “outrageous” statements against him to gain popularity.

Attacking Tejashwi, Sushil alleged, “Look at a man who failed in ninth grade, who has no family business, he owns 52 properties at the age of 31 today. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has a long tenure as the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Gujarat, is nowhere to be seen in a financially stunning fashion. ”

Sushil praised Nitish for effectively dealing with the Kovid-19 epidemic in Bihar and said that more than 40 thousand people have lost their lives in Maharashtra due to the disease, while due to proper arrangement of NDA government in Bihar, 1000 Fewer people have died.
