There has been a big disclosure in the IPL betting network case of 2019. CBI has said that this entire network was being operated from Pakistan. CBI has arrested 3 people on charges of match-fixing and betting.

It was being feared for a long time that Pakistan is fixing in IPL but now the truth has come out completely with the CBI investigation.

In this entire case, the transaction of money under hawala has also been revealed. According to the CBI, some people were jointly running a pan India network, under which people were attracted towards IPL betting.

Two cases were registered in the Central Agency on Friday. These cases have been registered under the Criminal Conspiracy, Cheating, Cheating and Prevention of Corruption Act.

The accused were in contact with Pakistani Waqas Malik
According to the CBI, the accused persons were in contact with a Pakistani national named Waqas Malik, whose number has already been obtained during preliminary investigation. Three people — Dilip Kumar, Gurram Satish and Gurram Vasu — have been named in the agency’s first FIR.

The agency has said that this network has been involved in betting since 2013. The CBI has alleged that there was a transaction of about Rs 10 crore between them.

In the second FIR registered on Friday, the central agency has named four persons Sajjan Singh, Prabhu Lal Meena, Ram Avtar and Amit Kumar Sharma.

Also, unidentified government officials and private persons active in IPL cricket betting since 2010 have been named. The second case involved an amount close to ₹1 crore.

Under the guise of betting related to IPL matches, they were cheating the general public by inducing them to place bets,” the agency said in the FIR.

CBI further said that “For this purpose, they have opened bank accounts using fake identities and got customer documents (ID and KYC) made in connivance of unidentified bank officials.

These bank accounts have been opened by submitting documents with fake details like multiple dates of birth and without thorough scrutiny by bank officials.

Scope of investigation spread across India
The CBI is probing the IPL betting network across India, which has direct links with Pakistan. Several people are under investigation in several cities and “unknown public servants” have also been named in the FIR.

The information is that the accused tried to influence the outcome of IPL matches at the behest of Pakistani contacts. So far, it has not been told by the investigating agency that which matches were tried to influence.
