Walkover in two finals due to stomach problem
China’s women’s doubles and mixed doubles players gave a walkover in the doubles final due to illness. Due to this, Japan’s World No. 3 pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino won the mixed doubles match at the India Open.
It was a similar story in the women’s doubles as the Chinese pair of Qingchen and Jia Yifan gave a walkover in their final as Qingchen was also suffering from diarrhoea. As a result, the Japanese pair Nami Matsuyama-Chiharu Shida won the title.
