India defeated Australia 4-3 in the third match of the 5-Test series. The score was tied at 3-3 till the 59th minute in a thrilling contest. In the last minute, India’s Akashdeep took the ball into the net on Mandeep Singh’s pass and gave the team the win. After 6 years, India has defeated Australia in a hockey match within the stipulated 60 minutes.
Australia are ahead 2-1 in the series after winning the first 2 Tests of 5 matches. The fourth match will be played on 3 December and the fifth match on 4 December in Adelaide only.

India’s captain Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal in the 12th minute to give the team the lead. Australia’s Jack Welch scored in the 25th and Aaron Zaleski in the 32nd minute to put his team ahead 2-1. India’s Abhishek equalized the score line at 2-2 in the 47th minute.

After a 2-2 draw, Shamsher Singh gave India a one-goal lead again in the 57th minute. But, in the 59th minute itself, Australia’s Nathan Efroms equalized the score line by scoring a goal. The match was heading towards a draw, when Akashdeep scored a goal in the last minute of the match to ensure India’s victory.

23rd win over Australia in 133 matches
So far 133 matches have been played between India and Australia. India could win only 23 of these matches. At the same time, Australia defeated India in 89 matches. During this, 21 matches were drawn between the two. The two teams had met before this series during the Commonwealth Games held in August. Then Australia defeated India 7-0.
