991 players will participate in the mini auction for IPL2023 to be held in Kochi on December 23. Wednesday was the last date for registration for the IPL auction. For this, 991 players have registered. In which 714 are Indian and 277 are foreign players. These include 185 capped and 786 uncapped and 20 players from associate countries.
Most Australian players after India
For the mini auction of IPL 2023, after India, the maximum number of players from Australia have got registered. In the list released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), 57 Australian players have given their names for the mini auction. After that South Africa 52, West Indies 33, England 31, New Zealand 27, Sri Lanka 23, Afghanistan 14, Ireland 8, Netherlands 7, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, UAE 6, Namibia 5 and Scotland 2 cricketers have sent their names.
When will IPL 2023 start?
A total of 74 matches will be played between 10 teams in the 2023 IPL. As per reports, the 16th edition of IPL is expected to start in the third week of March and go on till the end of May. The IPL of 2022 started from 26 March till 29 May.
Gujarat Titans won the last title
For the first time in 2022, IPL was held with 10 teams instead of 8. Two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants entered the tournament. In the final of the tournament, Gujarat Titans, captained by Hardik Pandya, defeated Rajasthan Royals, captained by Sanju Samson, by 7 wickets. Barring the first season of 2008, Gujarat Titans became the first team to win the title in their debut tournament itself.
