Tuesday was a relief for Delhi struggling with Corona infection. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Corona cases in Delhi are decreasing now. The situation is now under control. The lockdown was successful with the cooperation of the people. We have increased many beds of oxygen in the last days. There is no shortage of ICU and oxygen beds in Delhi now.
He said that we are applying 1.25 lakh doses of vaccine daily. We will soon start vaccinating more than 3 lakh people daily. Our goal is to get all Delhiites vaccinated in the coming three months, but we are facing a problem of lack of vaccine.
3 important things of Kejriwal’s press conference
1. Vaccine deficiency nationwide problem
We now have a few days of vaccine left in Delhi and this problem is nationwide. Today, only two companies are making vaccines and both together make only 6-7 million vaccines a month. In this way, it will take us more than two years to apply the vaccine to every person in the country. This battle cannot be won until every Indian feels vaccinated.
2. Many companies should be involved in making vaccines
I want to make a suggestion today. Do not make only two companies to make vaccines, many companies should be employed in making vaccines. The central government will take the formula of making vaccine from these two companies and give it to all those companies who can make vaccine safely. A portion of the profits of the companies producing the vaccine can be given as royalty to the two companies who discovered the original formula.
3. In Delhi, 1.5 crore people have to be vaccinated
If one and a half crore people want to get vaccinated in Delhi, then three crore doses are required. So far we have received 4 million vaccines in total. We need 26 million more vaccines in the next three months. He said that Delhi should need 80-85 lakh vaccines every month, so that everyone can get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Reduction in positivity rate seen: Satyendar Jain
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that around 80,000 tests are being done every day. It seems that the peak of the second wave is now slowly decreasing. Corona has around 23,000 beds in Delhi, with around 3,500 remaining empty. Delhi’s positivity rate has come down from 36% to near 19% in the last few days. Nearly 28,000 cases were reported daily, now it has come down to 12,500.
12,651 cases were received on the previous day
On Monday, 12,651 people were found corona positive in Delhi. This figure is the lowest in the past month. 13,306 people recovered and 319 died. So far, 13.36 lakh people have been infected. Of these, 12.31 lakh people have been cured, while 19,663 patients have died. 85,258 are being treated here.
