Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday handed over a check of Rs 10 lakh to the wife of Dr Amit Singh Damiya, who lost his life in the line of Covid duty, as assistance. Kejriwal visited the late doctor’s house and met his wife Manmeet Alang. The Chief Minister said, “This small offer of assistance from our side. We will always stand with those working on the front lines. We are proud of Dr Amit Singh’s service. We hope this financial assistance will help the family of Dr Amit Singh. We will always stand by the family.”

According to the statement issued by the government, Damiya’s family has been given assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Damiya was posted as Senior Resident on tender in Swami Vivekananda Hospital. He suffered a heart attack on 13 May while on duty during the second wave of Kovid-19. He died during treatment at a government hospital in Haryana.
