All the group matches in the FIFA World Cup 2022 are over. With this, 16 teams have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals and the journey of 16 teams has come to an end. There have been many upsets in this World Cup so far, including Argentina’s defeat against Saudi Arabia. Also this year Belgium’s golden generation and Germany’s star-studded team failed to qualify.

The Netherlands will compete with the United States. Netherlands finished top of Group A with 7 points. The team has won two matches and drawn one. With this, till now he has not got a single defeat in this World Cup. On the other hand, the American team is looking in top form this time. The team finished second in Group B with 5 points. They won 1 match and drew 2. The team did not lose a single match. It will be interesting to see which of the two teams will go ahead.
Argentina Vs Australia
Argentina made a great comeback after losing the first match against Saudi Arabia. They won 2 out of 3 group matches. First beat Mexico and then Poland and then topped the group. Australia have qualified for the Round of 16 for the first time since 2006. The team has done well in the tournament so far. He won his two matches and qualified for the next round with 6 points.
Japan Vs Croatia
Japan beat Spain in their last group match and topped Group E. Japan has now defeated the 2 big teams of the group, Spain and Germany, and now they can cause big upsets in this World Cup. On the other hand, 2018 World Cup finalist Croatia qualified by winning 1 match and drawing 2 matches. It will be exciting to see if Croatia can go ahead this time as well.
England Vs Senegal
England defeated Iran 6-2 in their first match and told why they are strong contenders to win the World Cup. However, the team could not perform the same in their second match against America. He had to be satisfied with a draw. The team has star striker Harry Kane, but he is not seen in his form. Although he has made 3 assists so far, he has failed to score a goal. In this World Cup, the young players of England have spread their charm. Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Feel Jude Bellingham have scored for the team.
If we look at Senegal, there was a lack of confidence in the team before the World Cup. The team’s star player and captain Sadio Mane got injured just before the tournament. Senegal lost their first match against the Netherlands, but won both their matches and made it to the round of 16. In that, the hosts beat Qatar 3-1 and Ecuador 2-1. Confidence and teamwork has been seen in the team. The pre-quarterfinal match between England and Senegal will be a close contest.
France Vs Poland
France is looking in good form in this World Cup. France had made it to the pre-quarterfinals by winning their first two matches. After this, in their last match against Tunisia, the manager rested the key players of the team. He had to bear the brunt of this. In the last match, France lost 1–0 against Tunisia. However, due to this match, the team management has understood their players and combination and they will challenge Poland in their next match.
On the other hand, luck factored into Poland’s qualification, as Mexico had the same number of points as Poland. But, he qualified due to 1 goal difference.
Morocco Vs Spain
Morocco has surprised a lot in this World Cup. They first played a draw against Croatia and then defeated Belgium and Canada. Along with this, he qualified on top in Group E with 7 points. It will be interesting to see how Morocco fares against Spain.
On the other hand, Spain has proved its claim from the first match. Spain beat Costa Rica 7–0 in their first match. Team manager Luis Enrique has used the players at the right time. Spain’s forward player Alvaro Morata is currently the top scorer of the World Cup. He has scored 3 goals for the team. Also, the young midfield duo of Gavi and Pedri leave no stone unturned to attack the players.
Spain won their first match against Costa Rica 7–0. But a draw against Germany and a 2-1 loss against Japan saw Spain finish second in Group E. ,
