The Railways said on Friday that it is spending two lakh rupees on the maintenance of each isolation coach, clothes and food for patients, safety equipment for employees and other essential items. Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said that this is the budgetary estimate of the Railways for 5,213 coaches replaced in isolation coaches. For this, money has already been received from the Central Covid Care Fund. He said that the Ministry of Railways has been allocated Rs 620 crore from this fund so far.

He said, "All these expenses have come from the Kovid Fund. An expenditure of two lakh rupees is estimated on maintenance of each isolation coach, clothes and food for patients, safety equipment for sanitation workers and other essential items. We have allocated Rs 300 crore for 5,000 coaches so far. We are keeping an eye on expenditure. ''

Yadav said that the good thing is that people from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal have started returning to work. Migrant workers are going back to the states from which they returned due to Corona virus. He said, "We are monitoring the number of passengers in special trains. Soon we will run more special trains according to the demand of the states, the number of passengers and the condition of Kovid.

Yadav said, "The number of passengers in trains going from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to big cities is increasing day by day. This indicates an improvement in the economic situation. ”He said that in view of the situation arising from the corona virus, it does not seem possible to run all trains in the near future.

Yadav said that 160 projects have been identified in six states under the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan. There will be a system of nine lakh working days for the migrant workers who return from it. He said that the railways have operated 4594 laborers special trains till June 25 and from May 1, 62.8 lakh passengers traveled in them. Railways has said that on request from the states, trains will be operational from any place within 24 hours.

The chairman said that 200 important works were completed during lockdown to facilitate movement and security in the route. On a question about the status of the bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Yadav said that 60 percent of the land has been acquired and the project is on.
