India's Amit Panghal ((Amit Panghal)) has lost in the final of the 52 kg weight category of the World Boxing Championship being played in Russia. In the final, Amit Panghal lost 5–0 in a one-sided match at the hands of Uzbekistan's Shakhobidin (Shakhobidin Zoirov) to Zirov. But despite the defeat, Panghal made history and he became the first boxer to win a silver medal in the history of Indian boxing. Apart from this, this is the first time India has finished with one silver and one bronze medal in the World Championship. Apart from Amit, Manish Kaushik won the bronze medal.

The form in which Amit was expected was that he would give India the first gold in this tournament, but Joirev beat Amit with his best game. Amit, however, did not lag behind. He faced the Uzbekistan player fiercely. He started the way he usually does. Being defensive, he wanted to understand his opposition. He made the opening minutes like this. Joirev was also waiting for Amit's mistake. They also took some punches. Amit's punch did not seem to be in the right place, while Joirev made good use of the right jab and gave some precise punches.

Earlier on Friday, Amit Panghal made history, entering the final of the 52 kg category of the competition on Friday. He defeated Shakhobidin Zoirov of Kazakhstan 3–2. With this victory, Amit made sure to win a silver or gold medal in this prestigious championship.

Amit became the first Indian male boxer to reach the final of the World Championship. Prior to Amit, four Indian male boxers have won bronze in the world championship, but now they have created history by winning silver and raising India's level in the boxing world. Before him, Vijendra Singh did this feat in 2009, while Vikas Krishnan traveled to the semi-finals in 2011 and Shiva Thapa in 2015. Apart from this, Gaurav Vidhuri won the bronze by reaching the semi-finals in 2017 but he could not change the color of the medal of Indians.
