An exciting match was witnessed on Monday-Tuesday night in the ongoing Football World Cup in Qatar. The match between 2026 host United States of America (USA) and Wales ended in a 1-1 draw.
The American team, returning to the tournament after 8 years, was leading 1-0 for 80 minutes of the match. But, could not convert that lead into victory. Wales captain Gareth Bell saved his team from defeat in the first match by scoring an equalizer in the 82nd minute. However, they were gifted with this opportunity when American player Walker Zimmerman fouled inside the D in the 81st minute. In such a situation, the referee blew the penalty whistle. What was it then, the captain of Wales played this opportunity very well. Bell made no mistake in hitting the penalty shot and scored the equalizer.
