Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday apologized “unconditionally” for its show “Tandav” and said that it had already removed the scene that viewers had found objectionable. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, there was a lot of controversy over the various scenes in the series and it was alleged that the show hurt religious sentiments. Many FIRs have also been filed in this regard.
Amazon Prime Video said in a statement, “Amazon Prime Video is extremely sorry that some of the scenes of the recently launched fictional series Tandava were found to be offensive to viewers.” It was not our goal to offend anyone’s feelings, and on being made aware of it, those objectionable scenes were either deleted or edited. We respect the diverse beliefs of our audience and apologize unconditionally to those viewers who have been hurt. ”
The company said, “Our teams emulate the company’s subject evaluation methods, and we believe that modernization of these methods is necessary from time to time to better serve the audience. We are committed to developing entertaining topics further with our partners, complying with Indian laws, and respecting the culture and beliefs of our audience. ”
