In states like Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab, the corona is spreading rapidly due to crowds and people’s insistence on not wearing masks. To monitor such people, Bhopal’s Indian Institutes of Sciences Education and Research (IISER) has created a Crowd and Mask Monitoring System (‘Crowd and Mask’ Monitoring System).

This monitoring system equipped with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will easily detect whether social distancing is being followed in the place of school-college, market or any other public institution. Whether the people present there wore masks or not. If people are not wearing masks or there is no distance between them then it will alert immediately. In this, there will be a record sound that people keep distance and wear masks. This would make it easier to monitor the corona (COVID-19).

With this, the guidelines related to corona can be easily followed at some place only by sitting remotely. Its price is also very low and can be easily taken anywhere. IISER Bhopal’s innovators say that it
A system equipped with AI will maintain 3 feet of social distancing.


This information was given by Dr. PB Sujit, Associate of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. The system has been designed by Venkateswara Rao, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering at IISER Bhopal, and BMMS student Kashi Vishwanath, along with other associate professors of the department, Dr. Mitradeep Bhattacharjee and Dr. Shantanu Talukdar.

Dr. Sujit says that we wanted to create a system that would immediately send an alarm if the rules of social distancing were violated. It has used high definition camera, microchip computer and 3D printed case with AI and machine learning. Researchers say that this system can also be installed in any crowded area or public places.
