The Asia Cup to be held in September this year can only be held in Pakistan. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, most of the matches of the tournament will be held in Pakistan. But all the matches of the Indian team can be shifted to any one of the UAE, Oman or Sri Lanka.
This time the Asia Cup is to be held in the first week of September. There will be a total of 13 matches including the final in the 6-team tournament lasting 13 days. India and Pakistan are in the same group. A team will reach with them after qualifying. Whereas Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in the second group.
India’s matches will be held on neutral venue
The 6 teams have been divided into two separate groups of 3 each. The Indian team will play one match each against Pakistan and the team of the qualifiers. The top-2 teams of this group will reach the Super-4 stage. All the teams will play 3-3 matches in the Super-4 stage. If Team India reaches the final as well, then this match will also be shifted to neutral venue.
Apart from UAE, Oman and Sri Lanka, the name of England is also coming up in the neutral venue. Because a large number of spectators can reach to watch the Indo-Pak match in England. But there is little hope of England getting the hosting rights, as the matches of Asia Cup and IPL have already been held in UAE and Oman during September. In such a situation, only a country in Asia is expected to host India’s matches.
