 Accor has
expanded its portfolio of hotels in Malaysia with the opening of a Mercure
in Miri, the second largest city in the state of Sarawak, Borneo.

The gateway to ecological
attractions such as Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah Caves,
Miri has long
attracted both business and leisure travellers.

Surrounded by
local attractions, government offices, shopping malls and a
heritage centre, the Mercure Miri City Centre reflects the area’s
vibrant culture with a collection of curated artwork that showcase
the region’s abundant flora and fauna, as well as Sarawak’s 32
ethnic groups.

The hotel is located a 10-minute drive from Miri Airport
and approximately 20 minutes from the border
with Brunei.

The Mercure Miri City Centre features 172 rooms
and suites, with the first category featuring a king or twin bed,
complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, a 55-inch TV and
high-speed Wi-Fi.

Two floors of Mercure Privilege Rooms offer
partial sea views along with slightly better amenities such as
coffee machines, while guests can also opt for the larger Junior
Suites or Deluxe Junior Suites to enjoyr a larger living area,
with a sofa and a bathtub.

The hotel also boasts an all-day dining
restaurant, two dedicated floors of meeting and event facilities,
a cafe and ice cream shop, a rooftop bar and restaurant, a
rooftop infinity-edge swimming pool and a fitness centre.
