The Women’s Asia Cup 2022 began on 1 October. On the second day of the tournament, the first match was played between Malaysia and Pakistan from 9 am. Pakistan won this match by 9 wickets on the strength of their excellent bowling. Pakistani bowler Tuba Hassan was the ‘Player of the Match’.

After winning the toss, Pakistan team decided to bowl first. Malaysia lost its first wicket on the second ball of the first over and Malaysian batsman Duraisingam had to return to the pavilion. Malaysia lost another wicket in the second over as well. After which the game seemed to be going in favor of Pakistan. After this, Malaysia may not have lost any wicket till the 7th over, but in these 5 overs, Malaysia’s team could not score more than 2-3 runs in every over. Pakistan took 3 wickets for Malaysia in the 14th over and Malaysia could only manage 57 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. The Malaysian batsman scored the highest 29 runs in the team. She could make this score in 51 balls. Malaysia’s 5 batsmen had to return to the pavilion without opening their account.

Pakistani bowler Omaima Sohail took 3 wickets for 19 runs in 3 overs. Tuba Hasan took 2 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs. Diana Baig took 1-1 wickets for 6 runs in 3 overs and Sadia Iqbal took 8 runs in 4 overs.

In this way, Malaysia’s team gave a target of 58 runs to Pakistan. Chasing this small target was not difficult for the Pakistani team. Pakistan’s openers Muniba Ali and Sidra Amin shared a 52-run partnership and scored 45 runs in just 6 overs. Sidra lost her wicket on the ball of Malaysian bowler Mahira Izzati Ismail. His score was 31 runs. At the same time, Muniba remained unbeaten with 21 runs. The Pakistani team reached the target by losing only 1 wicket and due to the stormy bowling, this match was in the name of Pakistan.
