This year, one in three families have planned to spend more than Rs 10,000 on festivals. According to a survey report by community social media platform LocalCircles, nearly half of these will shop from stores, malls and markets. Due to this, the foot fall in store-mall is expected to increase by 20%.

According to the report, this year, about 52% more will be spent in festivals than last year’s festive season, but 13% less than what was spent before Kovid i.e. in 2019. The good thing is that 65% of the households surveyed said that they have prepared to spend between Rs 2,000 to Rs 1 lakh on festivals. More than 58,000 people from 362 districts took part in this survey.

33% families will spend more than Rs 1 lakh
Sachin Tapadia, Founder and Chairman, LocalCircles said that 33% of households are ready to spend between Rs 10,000 and Rs 1 lakh for these festivals. But, there are also 35% families who do not have money to spend extra on festivals.
