The growing crowd of devotees at the Kumbh in Haridwar amidst increasing cases of corona in the country has raised concerns. Starting on April 1, an average of 50 thousand devotees are reaching Kumbh every day. A senior central government official warned that Kumbh could become a ‘super spreader’ of the corona. Therefore, one should consider ending it prematurely. On the other hand, the fair administration claims that guidelines are being followed to avoid infection.
In a secretary-level meeting to review the situation in Corona, a senior central official expressed apprehension that the situation would deteriorate due to Kumbh. He said that if Kumbh is not finished before the scheduled time, it can become a ‘super spreader’ of Kovid. Haridwar Kumbh will run till 30 April. Meanwhile, the government is forming a team that, with the help of sage-saints and religious leaders, will appeal to the pilgrims to wear masks and observe social distancing.
According to sources, the government is not considering ending the Kumbh time. The government believes that fear of corona up to a level is necessary, so that people do not neglect the rules. Unnecessary fear does not arise, so a campaign of ‘Health Fear’ will be carried out.
It is mandatory to bring negative report of RT-PCR test
Fair administration said, it is mandatory to bring negative report of RT-PCR test 72 hours before arrival in Kumbh region. There are seven entry poins for entry into the Kumbh region spread over Haridwar, Rishikesh and Devprayag, which are undergoing antigen test and thermal screening. If any passenger in a vehicle is found positive in antigen test then the entire vehicle is being returned. Four buses from Eastern UP were returned from Bhagwanpur point on Monday. At the same time, on Tuesday, 579 vehicles and 2423 people who came without a cavid test were returned.
Random checks will be conducted on all 72 ghats, private labs will be increased
Investigation will be done on 72 Ganga Ghats of Haridwar. Till now 10 government, 11 private labs used to check. There will now be 14 private labs. Right now, 20 thousand tests are being done every day in Haridwar. There are more than 16 thousand passengers in them. Private lab director Dr. Sandhya Sharma said, in the first 100 samples, one or two were infected, but now they are up to 6-7. 166 positives were found on Tuesday. Earlier, there were 349 cases in two days. At the same time, between April 2 and 4, there were only 75–80 patients on average.
District court of Dehradun-Haridwar closed for two weeks
The Nainital High Court has directed Dehradun and Haridwar District and Family Court to be closed for two weeks. During this time only the most important cases will be heard.
