Holi Hai… Rang Barse Bheege Chunar Wali Rang Barse… Sung in the heavy and intoxicating voice of Amitabh Bachchan, this song from the 1981 film Silsila captures the fun-filled atmosphere of Holi. But if seen carefully, then the festival of Holi is more than fun, laughter, chitholi.
Today we will try to look at the age-old festival of Indian society ‘Holi’ from this angle. I hope you all have enjoyed the festival of Holi.
Happy Holi and welcome to Career Funda!
Holi is essentially a symbol of the victory of good over evil, with the legend of Hiranyakashipu, Prahlad and Holika (from which the festival gets its name) Holi. This festival is celebrated in two days. Holi with colors also known as Dhulendi. A day before, people perform ‘Holika Dahan’ at night. And the next day from the morning, the festival of Holi is celebrated which is colourful, awkward, frivolous, shocking for some, and exasperating for many.
the whole world is colorful
The interesting thing is that a festival like Holi is celebrated in almost all the regions of the world. In Spain it is played with tomatoes and is called ‘La Tomatina’. As shown in the song ‘Ek Junoon Ek Deewangi…’ from the movie ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Similar festivals are celebrated under the name ‘Carnival’ in Brazil, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, ‘Songkran’ in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and ‘Boryeong Mud Festival’ in South Korea.
In India it is also celebrated as a mark of the sacred love of Krishna and Radha. However, some people also take it in a negative sense and use this festival to fulfill mutual enmity. ‘When is Holi… when is Holi…’ Remember, in the movie Sholay?
So let’s see what is there to take from these festivals apart from having fun…
5 Career Success Lessons From Holi For Professionals
1) Lesson 1 – Change is the law of nature
Holi marks the arrival of spring and is a symbol of new beginnings and change. It reminds us that change is the law of nature.
We must be open to new opportunities and ready to embrace change in career and personal life. Currently the rate of change is even faster due to technology.
2) Lesson 2 – Hearts bloom on Holi, colors mix – remove estrangement, build relationships
Holi is the time to let go of enmity, estrangement and negative feelings. It can teach us the importance of forgiving and moving on from past feuds, both in our personal and professional lives.
Strengthen relationships, build strong teams, and get ahead in life. No person can be successful alone, and being alone doesn’t even mean success, so keep working together, cooperate.
3) Lesson 3 – Unity in Diversity
Festivals such as Holi, La Tomitana, Carnival, Songkran and the Boryeong Mud Festival celebrate diversity and bring together people from different backgrounds. As a manager, it’s important to embrace diversity and create an inclusive work culture.
Everyone looks the same after being painted. I remember Nana Patekar’s dialogue from the film ‘Krantiveer’, which in its modified form could be, ‘Bata kaun sa chehra ameer ka kaun sa poori ka.. banane wale ne isse fark nahi kiya tu kaun hota hai, fark Doer’.
4) Lesson 4 – Paint me red, blue and green – creativity
Holi is a colorful and vibrant festival. In Holi and other festivals celebrated around the world, people express their creativity through clothes and decorations. As a professional, ‘out of the box’ thinking is essential. On the day of Holi, take a vow in your mind that you will look at any problem and aspects of life from different angles, so that you will be able to think more creatively about them.
5) Lesson 5 – Plan ahead
Celebrating the festival requires careful planning, coordination and execution. Professionals can learn to plan ahead, set achievable goals, and create contingency plans to handle unforeseen circumstances.
Summary
So in the end it can be said that celebrate the festival happily by taking your share of the lesson responsibly. Happy Holi once again with the best wishes that a good career and the success you get from it make the upcoming festivals even better.
Today’s career takeaway is that the story of Holi goes beyond colours, and professionals can take lessons from the festival of Holi for career success.
Will do and show!
