20 feet long and about 2 feet wide tunnel made from a house behind the doctor’s house.
A major theft incident took place in the house of a well-known doctor in Pinkcity Jaipur. The thieves took away about 4 quintals of silver kept in the basement of the house. Its price is being said to be around 3 crores. Silver jewelery and ingots were kept in three large boxes of iron. The thieves entered the house through a tunnel 20 feet long and about 2 feet wide and reached the basement.
According to ACP Raisingh Beniwal, the theft incident took place in the house of Dr. Sunit Soni, who lived in D-block on Amrapali Circle in Vaishali Nagar area. Dr. Soni is a well-known hair transplant surgeon. The doctor and his wife also have clinics in this house. The case report has been lodged at Vaishali Nagar police station.
In the report, Dr. Soni has told that he went to the basement 2 days ago. Silver jewelry was found missing there. When the box was taken out, it looked sliced. Then after lifting the box, the hole was seen about 2 feet deep. When it was shown through an employee, it was found that silver had been stolen by making a tunnel about 20 feet long below.
Additional DCP (Crime) Suilesh Chaudhary and ACP Raisingh Beniwal and police station incharge Anil Jaimini came to the doctor’s house to investigate.
FIR only mentioned silver jewelery and not weight
According to the station in-charge Anil Jamon, in the FIR, Dr. Soni has not mentioned the weight and price of the stolen silver. They have only written reports of silver jewelery being stolen. Talking to the family, it has been said to give information about the stolen silver. Initial police investigations claimed that three boxes contained around 400 kg of silver. These boxes were made of concrete floor by putting tiles on top of the ground.
In the basement room, silver was placed in similar boxes of iron buried under the floor.
A house was sold behind the house on January 4, the tunnel built here
Initial investigation of the police revealed that the house number D135 is just behind the house of Dr. Sunit Soni in the colony itself. This house was purchased by a person named Banwari Lal Jangid on January 4 for about 90 lakh rupees. A room has been built in this house. From where the work of digging the tunnel started about four feet by uprooting the floor. The thieves dug a tunnel about 20 feet deep and reached the doctor’s basement. There he stole silver ornaments and ingots kept in boxes buried in the ground. After this, the tunnel was closed and the tiles were placed on the floor.
